Yesterday was the 6th annual Live Like Liz 5k in Watkins Glen. It started out a cloudy day but as soon as the runners and walkers lined up for the 5k, the clouds cleared out and sunshine energized all the Live Like Liz participants. The starting line began at the Watkins Glen High School and continued on the Catherine Valley Trail.
I walked alongside Chef William and Norrie Cornelius. Definitely had a great time! Perhaps, next year we will run! Stay tuned on that one.

After the 5k, The Cornelius’ were presented with a gift from the Live Like Liz organization for Chef William’s “Live Like Liz Drench” last year.

The Live Like Liz event has been held in loving memory of Elizabeth Amisano. A group of friends and family members decided to start an education fund. The goal of the fund is to increase awareness of this horrific disease, both among women and health care professionals. By providing information about the symptoms of this disease, they hope to increase the survival rate for women diagnosed with ovarian cancer.

Also at the event, the Stamps were running in full force! Chris Stamp, also a previous client of ours, captured the 1st place time in his division with an amazing time of 20:15. Amelia and Liz Stamp ran their hearts out as well. Even Bev Stamp rocked her 70-79 division and won the 1st place time as well. Congratulations to them all.
